We are currently seeking a passionate and student-centered Middle School Science Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year.
Position Overview
The Middle School Science Teacher will create a positive, engaging, and academically rigorous classroom environment where students are encouraged to explore, question, and think critically about the world around them. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for science instruction while helping students build curiosity, problem-solving skills, and confidence as learners.
This teacher will deliver high-quality standards-aligned instruction, build strong relationships with students and families, and collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure all students experience growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum Delivery
- Plan and deliver engaging daily science instruction aligned to Indiana state standards
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to support diverse learners
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students at varying academic levels
- Create opportunities for hands-on learning, inquiry, experimentation, and critical thinking
- Foster student curiosity and engagement through meaningful, relevant instruction
Classroom Culture & Management
- Establish and maintain a structured, respectful, and positive classroom environment
- Build strong relationships with students while maintaining high academic and behavioral expectations
- Create a classroom culture where students feel safe, valued, and encouraged to take academic risks
- Utilize restorative and relationship-centered practices to support student development
Assessment & Student Growth
- Monitor and assess student progress using formal and informal assessments
- Analyze student data to guide instructional decisions and interventions
- Provide timely, meaningful feedback to students and families
- Collaborate with interventionists, specialists, and support staff to ensure all students receive the support they need
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with fellow teachers, instructional coaches, administrators, and support staff to improve student outcomes
- Maintain consistent communication with families through ParentSquare, conferences, phone calls, and other communication methods
- Contribute positively to the overall school culture and professional community
Professional Growth
- Participate in coaching, professional development, staff meetings, and collaborative planning
- Remain open to feedback and committed to continuous growth

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field
- Valid Indiana teaching license or eligible out-of-state certification
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced school setting
- Commitment to educational equity and student achievement
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of teaching experience
- Experience working in urban, diverse, or historically underserved communities
- Demonstrated success driving student growth and achievement
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital learning tools
- Experience using student data to inform instruction and intervention

Compensation & Benefits
- Certified teacher salary range: $51,500 – $83,000 based on verified years of experience and licensure
