Matchbook Learning is a non-profit charter management organization based in Indianapolis, Indiana. We operate two schools: Matchbook Learning at Wendell Phillips School 63, serving students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, and The Match High School and Career Center, which currently serves 9th and 10th grade students and will expand to include 11th grade students in the fall of 2026.

Matchbook Learning is seeking a Restorative Team Assistant to support students and the Dean of Students in our K–8 school community. This is a temporary, hourly, entry-level position expected to run through June, with the possibility of a short extension. Continuation into the next school year is possible but not guaranteed.
Position Overview
The Restorative Team Assistant supports the school’s restorative practices by helping supervise students who are temporarily out of the classroom, guiding them through reflection activities, and supporting their return to learning. This role is supportive in nature and does not involve making disciplinary decisions or providing counseling. The assistant works alongside other school staff at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students in grades K–8 in the restorative room alongside other staff
- Provide and review reflection documents with students in an age-appropriate manner
- Help students reset, de-escalate, and prepare to return to the classroom
- Maintain a calm, structured, and respectful environment
- Follow procedures and directions from the Dean of Students and school leadership
- Assist with student supervision during transitions, arrival, or dismissal as needed
- Complete basic documentation as directed
- Maintain student confidentiality and professionalism
Schedule & Pay
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
- Pay: $25/hour (may be higher depending on experience)
- Term: Temporary through June
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children or youth in a school, childcare, camp, after-school, or similar setting
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional with students
- Ability to follow procedures and take direction
- Reliable attendance
- Must pass a background check
Important Notes
- This is a support role, not a disciplinary or counseling position
- You will not be supervising students alone
- Training and guidance will be provided
