Wendell Phillips School 63  |  Indianapolis, Indiana

College & Career Readiness (CCR) Teacher (K–8)

Related Arts Team

1 Position Available  |  Salary Range: $51,500+  |  Full-Time

Our Vision

At Matchbook Learning, our vision is simple: every child is known, loved, and flourishing. We are a tuition-free public charter school proudly rooted in the Haughville neighborhood of Indianapolis, serving K–8 students at Wendell Phillips School 63. Our students come with high needs and extraordinary potential — and our staff shows up every day to meet both.

Half of our student population are Multilingual Learners. We serve students with a wide range of learning needs and we are proud to be in this community. You will be surrounded by a visible, supportive administration, a strong instructional coaching team, a dedicated MLL director, a large restorative team, and colleagues who put kids first.

About This Role

We're looking for a creative, growth-minded educator to join our Related Arts team as our College & Career Readiness (CCR) Teacher for grades K–8. Through engaging, hands-on lessons, you'll help students explore future careers, build digital literacy skills, and practice the life-readiness habits that set them up for success in school and beyond.

This is a fully supported role: complete lesson plans and instructional structure are provided for you. Your job is to execute those lessons with excellence — and you'll be coached closely on strong delivery, not left to build curriculum from scratch.

Professional Development & Support

Matchbook Learning invests deeply in its teachers. You will never build a lesson from scratch — our program provides fully developed lesson plans and instructional structure, and our coaching team supports you in delivering them with excellence. You will receive:

  • Fully developed CCR lesson plans and pacing — your energy goes into strong execution, not lesson design
  • Structured coaching and feedback on lesson delivery from instructional coaches and a highly visible administration
  • Robust bilingual support throughout the school — bilingual staff, resources, and systems to fully serve our Spanish-speaking students and families
  • Classroom management systems, PBIS support, and positive behavior reinforcement frameworks
  • Morning circle coaching and support (K–8) launching 2026–2027
  • PGP credits available for license renewal
  • Full support for educators pursuing an Indiana Emergency Permit, if not yet fully licensed

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver hands-on College & Career Readiness lessons for students in grades K–8 using provided curriculum, lesson plans, and pacing
  • Introduce students to a wide variety of careers and career pathways, and teach age-appropriate financial literacy concepts
  • Teach responsible technology use, digital citizenship, keyboarding, research skills, and online safety
  • Teach and reinforce the school's five competencies: Academic Ownership, Communication, Collaboration, Honor, and Resilience
  • Build students' life-readiness skills — goal setting, organization, problem solving, self-management, and leadership — through projects, discussion, and reflection
  • Differentiate instruction to meet a variety of student needs
  • Reinforce school-wide expectations and positive behavior systems
  • Collaborate with the Related Arts team and the Related Arts Team Lead for planning, coaching, and curriculum implementation
  • Partner with classroom teachers to reinforce school-wide competencies and expectations

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field — any background considered
  • A valid Indiana teaching license in any content area — Related Arts or general education — OR eligibility for an Indiana Emergency Permit
  • Genuine growth mindset and openness to coaching and feedback
  • Commitment to equity, high expectations, and serving students with high needs

Preferred:

  • Prior experience working with elementary or middle school-aged students, youth development, career exploration, or technology education
  • Comfortable integrating technology into instruction
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

What We Offer

✓  Salary: $51,500+, based on experience and qualifications.

✓  PGP credits for license renewal

✓  5% 401(k) match — dollar for dollar, vested at 90 days

✓  Fall, winter, spring & summer breaks

✓  10 PTO days (prorated if mid-year start)

  • Proactive, authentic family communication — you build real relationships with parents and guardians
