Our Vision
At Matchbook Learning, our vision is simple: every child is known, loved, and flourishing. We are a tuition-free public charter school proudly rooted in the Haughville neighborhood of Indianapolis, serving K–8 students at Wendell Phillips School 63. Our students come with high needs and extraordinary potential — and our staff shows up every day to meet both.
Half of our student population are Multilingual Learners. We serve students with a wide range of learning needs and we are proud to be in this community. You will be surrounded by a visible, supportive administration, a strong instructional coaching team, a dedicated MLL director, a large restorative team, and colleagues who put kids first.
About This Role
We are looking for a dedicated Third Grade teacher who understands the critical nature of this grade level — the year students transition from learning to read to reading to learn, and the year Indiana students take IREAD-3. Matchbook Learning has seen its highest IREAD scores in school history and we need a teacher ready to continue that momentum.
You will deliver instruction using provided, standards-aligned curriculum with full fidelity — no need to create your own materials. You will be coached, supported, and equipped with data every week or two so you always know exactly where your students are and what they need next.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver daily ELA and Math instruction using school-adopted curriculum with 100% fidelity
Prepare students intentionally for IREAD-3 through data-driven literacy instruction and targeted intervention
Use weekly/bi-weekly data cycles to identify student needs and adjust instruction in real time
Implement SIOP-aligned strategies to support Multilingual Learners across all content
Conduct regular student conferencing to build relationships and support individual academic growth
Maintain a structured, positive classroom environment aligned with PBIS systems
Actively participate in coaching cycles, walkthroughs, and school-wide professional development
Communicate proactively and consistently with families
Collaborate with restorative team, MLL director, SPED staff, and school leadership
•Support morning circles (launching 2026–2027) and competency-based learning structures
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in any field

Robust bilingual support throughout the school — bilingual staff, resources, and systems to fully serve our Spanish-speaking students and families
